DAY 3: MOVE TO YONGSAN

after an intense night of failed clubbing, we woke up in search of more foood. we found a homey place run by a bunch of ajummas. our korean guide (aka billy) led us there and ordered for us. we had the recommended special chicken soup for stamina, along with some "stinky" soybean stew ... was pretty good. had a very homemade feel to it. was just what i needed after a night of drinking lol.

strengthened now for our journey, we set out in search of the fabled "hello kitty cafe" ... amy led the way, of course haha. it was closer and in a more familiar location than we expected. sort of can't believe we didn't notice it earlier ...

it was basically a hardcore hello kitty themed pastry and coffee shop. very much a novelty tourist spot for hello kitty fans from all over. saw a lot of other foreigners there. and although everything was a bit overpriced and unimpressive taste-wise ... i can see its charm. my sister would have liked this place.

talk about hello kitty marketing ... danng. who knew a cat mascot with no mouth could be so famous and popular. since today was pretty much our last day living in hongdae, we went shopping for a bit. even though it was still gloomy and raining, it was fairly productive. me and billy both bought new backpacks and amy got some asian contact lenses for her sister ... now time for the move.

even though we were all really starting to enjoy and get used to hongdae as our home base city, we had to move to yongsan for our original house booking reservation. trip was short and easy enough. our host picked us up at around 2pm and drove us to our new place by seoul station. i'm here now as i am writing this blog. it's a bit smaller and less accessible, but it has character.
